"Keim Lumber makes it easy to build beautiful guitars. Apart from the guitar top, which is Western Red Cedar, every piece of this guitar was found at Keim Lumber. The fretboard, headstock, rossette, and backgraft, all came from the same piece of Macassar Ebony. It had such wonderful striping, with purples, greys, and blacks, that I wanted to use it as much as possible on the guitar to tie the design together as a whole. The back and sides are Wenge, with perfect quartersawn lines and a nice rich color. I didn't know what to expect from the Wenge back and sides as far as tone is concerned, but I now know that I will be building many more guitars with this wood. In combination with the Cedar top, the tone is amazing. Deep bass, crisp highs, even throughout, nice and warm - it's exactly what I was hoping for. The neck is a five piece laminated neck with Peruvian Walnut, Ambrosia Maple, and African Ebony. The binding is Maple with Padauk, which provides beautiful red lines throughout the guitar. Thanks to Keim Lumber for providing such a great selection of exotic hardwoods. I always spend twice as long as I had planned in the store, and always leave inspired to keep building the best guitars I can build."
