Bathroom Project Guide

Getting Started
Whether you’re doing a complete bathroom remodel or upgrading the faucets, you can count on Keim to help.
Planning
At Keim, we believe in getting it right the first time. Start your bathroom project by asking yourself the following questions:
1. What are your lifestyle needs? Do you need a bathtub for children or would a walk-in shower better fit your needs?
2. What are the dimensions of the space you have to work with?
3. How many people will be using the bathroom? How much storage will you need?
4. What's your style?
5. What's your budget?
FAQs
Will an updated bathroom increase the value of my home?
Yes! Bathroom renovations will increase the value of your home. The return on investment depends on the quality of materials you use and the surrounding housing market.
How long will it take to remodel my bathroom?
It normally takes about 6 six weeks for a construction crew to remodel a bathroom, but if it’s a DIY job, it may take longer.
What kind of lighting is best for bathrooms?
We recommend a softer light, which shows the true color. This is especially helpful when applying makeup.
How much lighting will I need in my bathroom?
It's always helpful to have a well-lit bathroom. We recommend, centering lights above each sink, and adding recessed lighting over the shower and a light with a fan/vent on the ceiling in the main area.
What type of flooring is best for a bathroom?
We recommend porcelain or ceramic tile, because of its durability. It can sometimes be cold underfoot, so consider an under-floor heating option. But if you're looking to do it yourself, then vinyl is a good alternative.
Why is ventilation so important?
Bathrooms get humid, so to prevent mold and mildew from growing on your walls, good ventilation is a must!
